Planning and doing research, together

This resource helps researchers, consumers, carers and communities work together from start to finish.

  • There’s lots of talk about researchers, consumers, carers and communities working together. But, there’s not a lot of help available.

  • This resource is for:

    Researchers who are…

    Consumers, carers and communities who…

    Funders of research…

  • While the words co-design and co-production are common, there’s not yet shared definitions and being part of genuine co-planned, co-designed and co-delivered research isn’t common yet.

For those reason we chose to focus on how we* want to work together and draw on many different practices to help us do that. That includes co-design and co-production, but isn’t limited to those things.

We focus on shared respect, shared decision-making and mutual respect.

*By we, we mean Regional Health Partners and the researchers, consumers, carers, communities and other partners.

  • There been lots of work done already in NSW, nationally and internationally.
